La Salle Prep High School, Athletic Center

The Saalfeld Athletic Center at La Salle College Prep High School underwent a substantial renovation and expansion. The design includes a new entry, reconfiguration of existing space, a 3,000 sf addition, a roof replacement on the existing gymnasium, and locker rooms. New spaces include locker rooms, fitness center, training room, administrative space, athletic storage, a health classroom, and public facilities. The design solution is rooted in resolving gender inequities of spaces, accessibility deficiencies, and substantial operational challenges, while also imbuing previously dark, confined spaces with ample daylight.
