Extend ADU

By removing an over-sized, underutilized garage and replacing it with an ADU, the owner gained rentable square footage and upgraded curb appeal. The ADU is an extension of the original form but separates itself from the existing house through a private, cut-out patio space. The patio steps down into a lush outdoor living room, creating the perfect backyard retreat. With a conservative budget, layered textured finished brought a rich feeling to the space. The final build sits slightly shifted to create a functional, light-filled space with income potential.
