Amanda founded Studio Petretti in 2015 with significant experience leading public and private projects. Her work spans a wide range of project types and scales with a consistent focus on the ability of light and material to shape the experience of space. Interested in warm modernism, she works to find simple design solutions that respect her client’s needs and integrate consideration of the construction process.
Amanda earned her Master of Architecture degree at the University of Oregon, completing her thesis project on architecture as urban catalyst in the Portland Urban Architecture Program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from New York University, with a multidisciplinary focus on the history and theory of urban design and architecture as well as environmental science.
A frequent visiting design critic at local architecture schools, Amanda has also taught design studio at Portland State University and University of Oregon. She often contributes to panel discussions and presentations on emerging voices in architecture and design as well as women in the profession.
Jeff joined Studio Petretti in 2016 bringing with him over 14 years of experience in architecture, construction and development industries. He has successfully managed project coordination during all design and construction phases and at all project scales. A design-centered architect with a detail-oriented nature, Jeff’s approach on every project balances a rigorous focus on tectonics and financial feasibility with a keen eye for spatial design.
Jeff earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon where his studies focused primarily on industrial infrastructure as a learning experience in the urban environment. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont where he studied social geography and economics.
When Jeff is not in the office or on a job site, he can usually be found fly fishing on one of the many beautiful rivers of the Pacific Northwest.
With nine years’ experience in the field Lauren brings expertise in new construction, renovation, adaptive reuse, and interiors. Her design-centered approach is routed in creating functional spaces that are uplifting and enriching. With balance and proportion in mind, Lauren enjoys instilling harmony and simplicity in even the most complex situations.
Lauren holds a BArch from the Syracuse University School of Architecture, where she focused her studies on inclusive design and urban planning.
Outside of work, she can often be found working in her studio developing modern and refined furniture.
Kayla has worked on a variety of projects spanning adaptive reuse, new construction, small renovations, and graphic design collateral packages. She brings her background in both Architecture and Interiors to each project she works on, remembering the details in the midst of big pictures decisions.
Kayla received dual Master of Architecture and Interior Architecture degrees from University of Oregon. She also had the opportunity to study daylight and experiential design in Copenhagen, Denmark— which has greatly influenced her design approach.
On the side, she spends a lot of time in her ceramics studio creating architecturally inspired pottery.
Angelo brings experience from a diverse collection of project types and scales including commercial, multi-family and single family residential, and interiors. His design values are driven by the idea of place making in both an architectural and urban context.
Angelo earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon with a specialization in architectural technology. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.
In his free time, you can usually find him at a local sporting event or concert venue.
Darryl brings 25 years of small business entrepreneurship to his role as Studio Manager, overseeing finance, legal and operations. A decade as a residential general contractor focused on renovations and green building practices helps him stay in tune with the staff as they navigate multi-layered architectural projects. Adept at time management, detail oriented and ready to tackle any project, Darryl assists the team wherever needed, adding versatility to handle whatever project the Studio is tackling on a daily basis.
In his off time, Darryl enjoys making wine and cycling.
